Director, Accounting Advisory & Strategic Programs (Renewable Energy)

Location: Edison, New Jersey, United States; full-time onsite role

Salary: $173,225–$216,530 per year

What you will do

• Lead and support accounting transformation initiatives, close-process optimization, analytics, and workflow automation.
• Coordinate external audits and quarterly reviews, including PBC requests, issue tracking, deliverables, and escalations.
• Support financial accounting due diligence, purchase price allocation, accounting integration, and policy harmonization for acquisitions.
• Design and operate SOX 404 internal controls over financial reporting and drive remediation of material weaknesses and significant deficiencies.
• Partner with Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting on complex U.S. GAAP matters, auditor inquiries, SEC filings, and accounting policies.
• Collaborate with Financial Reporting, Corporate Accounting, Project Accounting, Tax, Internal Audit, legal counsel, and finance leadership.

Requirements

• Active CPA license required.
• 10–15 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years at a Big 4 public accounting firm at Senior Manager level or above.
• Experience with SEC reporting, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and S-1, as well as public-company financial reporting.
• Hands-on SOX 404 experience covering ICFR design, operating effectiveness testing, and remediation of control deficiencies.
• Experience supporting an IPO, public-company transition, or first-year external audit engagement.
• Deep U.S. GAAP expertise, including ASC 606, ASC 718, ASC 805, ASC 842, ASC 280, and ASC 350, plus strong communication, project management, and cross-functional leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in renewable energy, utility-scale solar, energy storage, infrastructure, or EPC construction.
• Experience with percentage-of-completion revenue recognition in construction or project-based businesses.
• Experience developing data analytics or accounting workflow automation.
