Senior Mining Engineer

Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada

Salary: $120k–$150k annually, depending on experience and expertise.

What you will do

• Evaluate resource and reserve models and complete mine pit or stope optimizations.
• Create open-pit or underground mine designs, waste dump designs, and haul road designs.
• Estimate equipment, personnel, capital, and operating costs for mining projects.
• Perform project economic evaluations and prepare technical reports under SEC S-K 1300, NI 43-101, or JORC guidelines.
• Advise clients on project development and contribute to business development and project management.
• Manage mining-related projects and support junior engineering staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mining, geological, or civil engineering.
• At least 10 years of mining engineering experience, including mine planning and resource optimization, with at least 2 years in operations.
• Registered professional engineer in the US or Canada, or ability to obtain registration upon hire.
• Qualified Person under SEC S-K 1300 or NI 43-101 reporting standards.
• Experience with mine planning and pit optimization software, including tools such as Surpac, Vulcan, MineSched, Deswik, Carlson, and GIS.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; business-related vehicle operation is required during work hours.

Nice to have

• Experience with both underground and open-pit mining.
• Programming skills in TCL, Lisp, Visual Basic, or other programming languages.
• Project management experience.
