Salary: $56,650–$79,000+ for uncertified teachers; $60,000–$88,500+ for certified teachers, depending on experience and certification status.

What you will do

  • Create rigorous, engaging unit and daily lesson plans using provided curricula and resources.
  • Build an affirming, inclusive, organized, safe, and academically challenging classroom environment.
  • Analyze student work and academic data to adapt lessons and improve instructional practice.
  • Provide accommodations and modifications, maintain accurate student records, and communicate with families about student progress.
  • Collaborate with grade-level colleagues, instructional coaches, and school leadership through professional development and feedback.
  • Support school operations through family engagement, school events, student duties, field trips, and other assigned responsibilities.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of full-time Science and Social Studies teaching experience; urban-setting experience is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Pennsylvania State certification Level I or II strongly preferred.
  • Uncertified candidates must enroll in a Pennsylvania-approved certification program within one year of hire and submit transcripts for an emergency permit application.
  • Strong classroom management, student-growth, collaboration, cultural competence, and inclusive teaching skills.
  • PA State Police, PA Child Abuse, and Cogent Federal Fingerprinting clearances must be completed before the start date.
