What you will do
- Design, implement, debug, test, and support mechanical components and assemblies for life-saving medical devices.
- Design plastic injection-molded parts, electro-mechanical assemblies, mechanisms, and custom test fixtures.
- Use 3D CAD and CAE tools, including FEA, CFD, and mold-flow simulation, to verify designs.
- Create engineering drawings to ASME Y14.5 standards, perform tolerance analyses, and process Engineering Change Orders.
- Support design reviews, verification and validation activities, technical feasibility studies, and sustaining engineering.
- Investigate product failures, conduct root-cause analysis and Design of Experiments, and coordinate with internal and external teams.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field strongly preferred.
- An associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related technical field may be considered with 10+ years of industry experience.
- 0β3 years of mechanical engineering experience.
- Practical knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication processes, including machining, casting, sheet metal, and adhesives.
- Proficiency with PLM/PDM tools, preferably Windchill, and SolidWorks and/or Creo.
- Working knowledge of FEA software, preferably ANSYS, Microsoft Office, GD&T, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
