Director of Integrated Mechanical Systems (Defense)

Location: Inglewood, California, United States. Applicants must be U.S. persons under ITAR export-control requirements.

Salary: $219,700–$276,200 annually.

What you will do

• Establish and lead mechanical, structural, shelter, manufacturing, and mechanical-integration engineering activities.
• Own the design of deployable shelters and integrated infrastructure from concept and system architecture through field deployment.
• Lead structural design, finite element analysis, thermal management, HVAC integration, environmental sealing, EMI shielding, equipment packaging, lifting systems, and transportation analysis.
• Drive maintainability, manufacturability, producibility, reliability, and lifecycle support throughout product development.
• Develop engineering standards, manufacturing documentation, qualification plans, and technical data packages for repeatable production.
• Lead welding, system assembly, floor execution, and cross-discipline integration with electrical, communications, cooling, and mission-equipment stakeholders.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or a bachelor’s degree with significant relevant experience.
• At least 5 years of managerial experience leading mechanical, structural, shelter, or related engineering through design, manufacturing, qualification, and deployment.
• Experience with structural analysis, finite element analysis, thermal management, HVAC integration, environmental sealing, equipment packaging, and transportation-related design.
• Experience integrating mechanical design with manufacturing engineering, particularly welding and system assembly.
• Ability to develop engineering standards, manufacturing documentation, qualification plans, and technical data packages.
• Must qualify as a U.S. person under ITAR: U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, political asylee, or refugee.

Nice to have

• Experience with utility-grade E-Houses, transportable electrical control rooms, modular equipment shelters, ISO container systems, or environmental control systems.
• Experience applying the International Building Code, ASCE 7, military environmental qualification requirements, or defense and utility standards.
• Experience with arc-resistant switchgear buildings, medium-voltage equipment enclosures, or infrastructure supporting mission-critical electrical equipment.
