VP, Head of Procurement (Biotech)

Location: Waltham, MA; onsite

Base pay: $272,000–$340,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Establish and execute the long-term Procurement vision, roadmap, operating model, and staffing strategy.
• Design and implement scalable source-to-pay processes, policies, governance frameworks, and compliance practices.
• Lead high-value sourcing initiatives, including RFPs, supplier evaluation, negotiations, and contracting support.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, IT, and functional leaders on purchasing strategy, regulatory alignment, and procurement system implementation.
• Build supplier selection, onboarding, performance management, and business review processes.
• Deliver reporting and insights on savings, sourcing pipelines, supplier risks, performance, sustainability, and supplier diversity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 20+ years of purchasing or procurement experience, including at least 8 years in biotech or pharma.
• Experience with ERP, MRP, and procurement systems, processes, and tools.
• Experience working in a global, matrix-managed business.
• Proven ability to lead complex, high-value initiatives from inception through implementation.
• Strong negotiation, communication, planning, organizational, reporting, and leadership skills.
