Senior Buyer (Drones)

Location: Teal Drones, Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. The role supports procurement across California, Utah, and Georgia operations. ITAR/EAR-restricted work requires proof of U.S. citizenship or permanent residence, and candidates must not require sponsorship.

What you will do

• Develop and execute purchasing strategies for materials, electronics, composites, mechanical parts, and assemblies used in UAV production.
• Manage the procurement cycle from RFQ and purchase order issuance through delivery tracking and invoice resolution.
• Identify, evaluate, qualify, and negotiate with suppliers on cost, quality, capability, compliance, and long-term agreements.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and material planning teams on new components, engineering change orders, BOM accuracy, and production schedules.
• Maintain supplier scorecards, monitor performance, and lead corrective actions.
• Monitor lead times and supply-chain disruptions, manage sourcing risks, improve ERP/MRP accuracy, and support special projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of progressive purchasing or sourcing experience in aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing.
• Experience with strategic sourcing, cost negotiation, supplier management, and manufacturing processes for electronics, composites, machined parts, and assemblies.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Epicor, NetSuite, or an equivalent platform.
• Familiarity with AS9100, ITAR, DFARS, supplier quality requirements, EAR, CMMC, and ethical sourcing.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residence is required for export-restricted work; visa sponsorship is not available.

• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement principles.
• APICS/CPIM certification.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
