Design Consultant (In-Home Sales/Interior Design) - California Closets

Location: Field-based in Washtenaw County and Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States, with frequent travel to Washtenaw, Livingston, Oakland, and Wayne Counties. The role combines client visits, remote design work, and showroom collaboration.

Salary: USD 55,000–130,000 yearly. On-target earnings: USD 85,000–120,000+ with uncapped commissions.

What you will do

• Conduct scheduled in-home and showroom consultations with clients.
• Plan spaces and design custom storage solutions using proprietary CAD software.
• Provide product expertise, consultative sales, and an elevated customer experience.
• Manage multiple client projects from concept through installation.
• Build relationships and collaborate with interior designers, decorators, and builders.
• Travel daily to client appointments across the specified Michigan counties.

Requirements

• Experience in sales, interior design, home improvement, home organization, or a related field.
• Strong consultative sales, closing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong organization, time management, attention to detail, and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to learn proprietary CAD design software; a laptop is required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently to Washtenaw, Livingston, Oakland, and Wayne Counties.
• Full-time availability, including some evenings and weekends.
