Manager, Cloud Engineering (Azure)

Location: Oak Brook, Illinois, United States; full-time, with up to 10% domestic and international travel.

Salary: $133,783.00–$228,241.50 per year, plus benefits, 401(k) contribution, and eligibility for a short-term incentive plan.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop cloud engineers and architects through regular 1:1s, performance reviews, career planning, and goal setting.
• Own hiring, onboarding, retention, team capacity planning, and budget management.
• Execute the cloud infrastructure roadmap with architects and senior engineers across strategic and operational priorities.
• Guide Azure and other cloud platform implementations, managed services adoption, vendor selection, and cost optimization.
• Drive cloud engineering delivery across design, implementation, automation, observability, incident response, and remediation.
• Partner with Engineering, Product Management, IT Security, and SRE/DevOps to align priorities, manage risks, and communicate technical decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of infrastructure, cloud, and operations experience, including design, implementation, disaster recovery, and network or security architecture.
• At least 3 years of direct people-management experience leading cloud, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE teams.
• Experience operating production cloud environments at scale using Azure, AWS, or GCP, including managed or PaaS services.
• Experience with Agile and Scrum, software development, Infrastructure as Code, Linux, Windows, and Active Directory.
• Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems, lead root cause analysis, communicate with executives and technical stakeholders, and work in a collaborative environment.

Nice to have

• Master's degree or MBA and relevant cloud architecture certifications.
• Experience in IoT or connected and durable goods industries.
• Experience managing globally distributed engineering teams and leading FinOps initiatives.
• Experience with Kubernetes, container platforms, and modern CI/CD ecosystems.
• Strong financial and vendor management skills, including experience working in a matrix environment.
