Staff Software Engineer (Fullstack)

Location: Los Angeles, California, United States; onsite five days a week

Base salary: $213,000–$269,250 per year, with potential equity awards and an annual performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Own complex full-stack initiatives across user interfaces, backend services, cloud infrastructure, and external integrations.
• Lead technical design and architecture while balancing speed, reliability, maintainability, and operational simplicity.
• Build software for kitchen operations, including order intake, menus, recipes, tasks, alerts, and performance visibility.
• Integrate delivery and commerce platforms to synchronize orders, menus, and order states.
• Create operator-facing and robot-adjacent interfaces for physical production environments.
• Support rollouts and production operations through testing, observability, incident diagnosis, documentation, mentoring, and technical hiring.

Requirements

• 10+ years of strong software engineering experience, including ownership of complex multi-component systems or initiatives.
• Technical design and execution experience in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
• Deep experience with at least one backend language and strong frontend engineering skills with modern TypeScript frameworks.
• Experience designing APIs, services, data models, and asynchronous or event-driven workflows.
• Strong product judgment, communication, cross-functional collaboration, and ability to translate operational problems into usable software.
• Ability to mentor engineers and influence technical direction without relying on formal authority.

Nice to have

• Go, AWS, distributed systems, databases, queues, and cross-region architectures.
• Docker, Kubernetes, Protobuf, Python, Terraform, Git, and continuous delivery systems.
• Simulation environments, mocked backend services, integration testing, SQL, analytics platforms, or operational dashboards.
• Experience with robotics, hardware, logistics, manufacturing, fulfillment, or other physical operations.
