Staff Software Engineer (Healthcare)

Location: Remote in the United States; currently not hiring in Hawaii

Salary: $192,000–$240,000 base salary annually, plus equity; no bonus.

What you will do

• Act as the foundational engineering leader for the Provider Onboarding team.
• Define product architecture and build capabilities for internal and external users and workflows.
• Develop and improve onboarding tools across pricing, payments, client panels, and forms.
• Build scalable fullstack applications and microservices using custom tools and industry solutions.
• Lead planning, specification, execution, measurement, and post-launch maintenance across the development lifecycle.
• Mentor senior engineers, review architectures, and establish durable design patterns.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• At least 1 year of experience working with healthcare or equivalent systems.
• At least 1 year of experience helping form a new team from scratch.
• Fullstack experience building modern SQL or NoSQL database-backed web applications and microservices.
• Experience working cross-functionally, mentoring engineers, reviewing architectures, and establishing design patterns.
• Experience delivering highly complex projects with a focus on sustainable results.

Nice to have

• Startup experience.
• Experience developing SaaS applications on Amazon Web Services.
• Experience with high-reliability or high-accuracy products, such as finance or mission-critical systems.
• On-call experience and the ability to independently investigate and resolve complex issues.
• Experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and Kafka.
