Senior Software Engineer, Middleware (Microsoft .NET)

Location: Oak Brook, Illinois, United States; telecommuting allowed. Work hours: 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., 5 days per week, 40 hours per week.

Salary: $159,650 per year.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain middleware components, APIs, and platform services supporting the myQ ecosystem.
• Lead and mentor 2–3 onshore and offshore software engineers through task assignment, code reviews, and technical coaching.
• Plan, develop, test, and deliver middleware features and platform enhancements using Agile/Scrum practices.
• Collaborate with product owners, front-end, DevOps, firmware, infrastructure, database, architecture, and other engineering teams.
• Assess, scope, and manage code changes for business requirements, product enhancements, and change requests.
• Lead design reviews, pull requests, technical discussions, and implementation of secure, reusable, maintainable software.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of experience in software development involving middleware, backend, or enterprise software systems.
• Experience with .NET, C#, Azure, SQL, and Visual Studio.
• Experience with Git, NoSQL databases, and messaging systems such as RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, or AWS EventBridge.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, RESTful services, dependency injection, cloud development, and CI/CD deployment processes.
• Ability to work with Agile/Scrum methodologies and create and maintain technical documentation.
