Senior Software Engineer (Real-Time Data Platform)

Location: London, United Kingdom. Hybrid work with four days in-office each week.

Base salary: GBP 68,200–95,333 per year. Annual bonus target: 12.5%.

What you will do

• Design and build scalable, real-time data processing systems using Apache Flink and Kafka.
• Develop maintainable Apache Flink Java processing services and .NET APIs.
• Lead collaborative system design and own implementation through production support.
• Build highly available cloud-native systems on AWS and define infrastructure with Terraform.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows using tools such as Harness.
• Optimize systems for performance, latency, throughput, reliability, and cost.

Requirements

• Strong experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Flink or similar stream-processing frameworks and Kafka or other messaging systems.
• Strong proficiency in Java or .NET.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, logging, alerting, and operationally mature production systems.
• Strong understanding of performance tuning, scalability, and fault tolerance.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to evaluate cost implications as systems scale.
