Mex Engineering Support Technician (2nd Shift) (Manufacturing)

G&W Electric Co. manufactures electrical equipment and supports production through engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and application-engineering functions.

What you will do

• Release orders to Manufacturing and support daily order-processing activities.
• Create and maintain BOMs, part numbers, drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, labels, marking files, and other manufacturing documentation in ERP and document-control systems.
• Provide CAD files in DXF, IGES, and DWG formats to internal departments and global facilities.
• Process ECNs and DCNs, update BOMs, verify implementation accuracy, and coordinate engineering changes across manufacturing operations.
• Support mechanical and electrical engineers, standardization activities, legacy-part replacement, and engineering-documentation updates.
• Assist with shop-floor technical issue resolution, root-cause analysis, and continuous-improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Technician education in Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• One to two years of manufacturing experience; electrical-equipment manufacturing or a related industrial environment is preferred.
• Experience with J.D. Edwards, SAP, or an equivalent ERP platform, including BOM, part-number, and technical-data maintenance.
• Experience with Creo, SolidWorks, or other CAD software and the ability to work with DXF, IGES, and DWG files.
• Knowledge of ECNs, DCNs, document control, traceability, change implementation, electrical schematics, CAM software, industry standards, and applicable regulations.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous-improvement methods, root-cause analysis, and structured problem-solving.
