Software Engineering Architect (Cloud & AI)

Location: Boston, United States; hybrid work environment. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Base salary: $123,000–$177,500 annually, plus eligibility for a competitive incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Define target-state architectures and technology roadmaps for Cash Management, Collateral Management, Decision Support Systems, and Portfolio Master platforms.
• Establish architecture standards, design patterns, integration frameworks, reference architectures, and engineering guardrails.
• Drive cloud modernization using Azure, OpenShift, Kubernetes, containers, and platform engineering practices.
• Define CI/CD, DevSecOps, observability, operational resilience, and reliability patterns for scalable and secure systems.
• Develop data integration strategies using APIs, event-driven architecture, modern data platforms, and Microsoft AI technologies.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across delivery teams, architecture councils, design reviews, and governance forums.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering, solution architecture, or enterprise architecture experience.
• Significant experience in investment management, asset management, capital markets, or financial services.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale, cloud-native, distributed, and event-driven systems for investment operations, portfolio management, or investment data.
• Strong experience with Azure, Azure DevOps, OpenShift, Kubernetes, containers, APIs, messaging, integration patterns, and service-oriented architectures.
• Experience with Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle, Azure SQL, Microsoft AI technologies, Infrastructure-as-Code, observability, resilience, and operational excellence.

Nice to have

• Experience with cash processing, liquidity management, collateral management, margining, collateral optimization, and operational risk controls.
• Knowledge of trade settlement, reconciliation, accounting, and post-trade processing workflows.
• Experience with Charles River, Eagle, Acadia Margin Manager, Calypso, or similar investment management platforms.
• Familiarity with Terraform, Helm, Ansible, and other cloud automation technologies.
