Architect (Data)

Location: Remote - Nationwide, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; visa sponsorship, including CPT/OPT sponsorship, is not available.

Base salary: $114,000–$165,300 per year, with potential participation in a bonus program.

What you will do

• Shape solution architectures aligned with the unified IT data strategy in partnership with enterprise architects, business stakeholders, and engineering teams.
• Document target-state and reference architectures, roadmaps, dependencies, reusable patterns, and architectural decisions.
• Design and support modernization and migration of complex systems to scalable, secure, and cost-optimized cloud architectures.
• Evaluate and prototype emerging technologies, including Generative AI and advanced analytics, and translate experimentation into delivery recommendations.
• Establish architectural standards, governance, security, resilience, scalability, and integration practices across data platforms.
• Guide full-stack and delivery teams through solution design and implementation to improve performance, reliability, and long-term cost outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, mathematics, software engineering, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience delivering data-intensive solutions in data engineering, analytics engineering, data platforms, BI, or related areas.
• At least 1 year of solution design ownership for moderately complex initiatives, including architectural trade-offs and implementation guidance.
• Experience across multiple data-focused roles, such as data engineering, ETL/ELT, data architecture, database administration, BI, analytics engineering, data science, or data governance.
• Expertise in data and cloud architecture, preferably AWS, with experience in platforms such as Snowflake or Redshift.
• Knowledge of architecture frameworks, performance optimization, availability, caching, monitoring, scalability, security, and communicating decisions across distributed teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, orchestration, data quality, batch and near-real-time workloads, Kafka or Kinesis, and event-driven architectures.
• API-first data access, integration governance, Spark-based platforms, data security and privacy, FinOps, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, Kubernetes or EKS.
• Applied AI and GenAI patterns for retrieval, evaluation, monitoring, and responsible adoption.
• Java, microservices, third-party API integrations, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification.
