TL;DR
Mechanical Process Engineer (Nuclear): Providing engineering analysis, design development, and design documentation for SRR Engineering Teams with an accent on process diagrams, piping and instrumentation, mechanical equipment sizing, and ASME code compliance. Focus on developing procurement specifications, reviewing vendor documents, and performing field system walkdowns in nuclear or process chemical facilities.

Location: Aiken, South Carolina, United States; onsite

Work schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, with 5/8, 4/10, or 9/80 schedules available.

What you will do

  • Provide engineering support to assigned SRR Engineering Teams.
  • Perform engineering analysis and develop mechanical and process designs.
  • Prepare process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, system descriptions, and mechanical equipment lists.
  • Complete mechanical equipment sizing and calculations, piping and valve specifications, and ASME B&PVC design and evaluation.
  • Develop mechanical procurement requirements, specifications, data sheets, and vendor document reviews.
  • Travel off site when required to interface with vendors, fabricators, and other engineering organizations, and walk down systems in the field.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or current Professional Engineer registration in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • At least five years of design experience in the nuclear or process chemical industry.
  • Knowledge of ASME B31.3 code requirements.
  • Ability to perform field system walkdowns.
  • Availability to work onsite in Aiken, South Carolina, United States.
  • A security clearance is not required for this position.

Nice to have

  • Experience with 2D MicroStation computer-aided drafting and design.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, data analytics tools, and Visio.
