Target annual pay: $127,104–$153,401. Full annual pay range: $113,955–$178,237.

What you will do
- Perform and document design and stress analyses for pressure vessels, reactor vessel internals, and primary equipment supports.
- Evaluate pressure, mechanical, thermal, primary, secondary, fatigue, seismic, and dynamic loading conditions.
- Apply ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III requirements and applicable U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission guidelines.
- Use ANSYS finite element software and CAD packages to support and optimize component designs.
- Interpret project requirements, oversee engineering results, and resolve complex technical problems.
- Mentor less experienced engineers and provide technical leadership for the NSSS Component Analysis Group.
Requirements
- B.S. degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering, from an ABET-accredited four-year institution.
- At least 10 years of relevant full-time engineering experience.
- Extensive ANSYS experience performing stress analysis under ASME Section III, Subsections NB, NG, and/or NF.
- Eligibility to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 is required.
- Strong knowledge of applicable nuclear industry codes, standards, regulations, ASME NQA-1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, and 10 CFR 21.
- Ability to communicate technical information, coordinate multidisciplinary design activities, and lead engineering work with minimal oversight.
Nice to have
- Advanced engineering degree.
- Professional Engineer certification.
- Experience with seismic and dynamic analysis.
- Programming skills in ANSYS APDL, MATLAB, or Python.
