Buyer (Manufacturing Procurement)

What you will do

• Manage purchase orders from requisition through delivery for direct materials and relevant subcontracted services.
• Process supplier acknowledgements, MRP action messages, exception messages, returns, purchase order releases, and invoice holds.
• Conduct RFQs and structured supplier negotiations to secure competitive pricing and best value.
• Coordinate supplier expediting, onboarding, contractual arrangements, and relationship management.
• Track supplier performance, update pricing and supplier data in ERP systems, and manage direct-material costs.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities and participate in continuous-improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, with mechanical metal experience required.
• Experience sourcing measuring instruments, piping components, pumps, coolers, accumulators, motors, or similar industrial components.
• Knowledge of purchasing techniques, logistics, supply chain, and Materials Requirement Planning systems.
• Excellent customer service, communication, relationship management, and supplier negotiation skills.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

• Experience sourcing fabrication API plans, spools, skids, and auxiliary systems.
