Electrical Engineer (Hybrid)

Location: Houston, TX, United States; hybrid role with relocation required to work from the TAS Houston office

What you will do

• Design and optimize modular electrical components and complete electrical systems for manufacturing and installation.
• Develop one-line diagrams, point-to-point schematics, electrical calculations, design specifications, bills of materials, and assembly instructions.
• Select and support purchasing of switchgear, motor starters, VFDs, MCCs, transformers, conductors, conduit, and control systems.
• Collaborate with project, mechanical, controls, procurement, production, service, and design teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance.
• Provide technical support during fabrication, assembly, installation, and first-of-a-kind quality inspections.
• Compile electrical O&M information and support bid tabulation and proposal development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant controls engineering education and experience; military technical or leadership experience may substitute.
• 2–5 years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in power distribution, modular construction, data centers, controls, or building systems design.
• Hands-on knowledge of switchgear, panelboards, motor starters, VFDs, ATS, UPS, cable trays, conduits, and fittings.
• Experience preparing technical specifications, documentation, electrical calculations, and compliance reviews against NEC, IEC, NFPA, and related codes.
• Ability to work on production floors, including climbing ladders, and to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Relocation to Houston is required for the hybrid work arrangement.

Nice to have

• Modular systems, data center, power generation, field, or production experience.
• AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and/or Revit experience.
• Controls and PLC programming experience.
• EIT/FE completion or PE registration.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE and experience with estimating or bid tabulation.
