Electrical Designer (AI Infrastructure)

Location: United States; ideally based in the San Francisco, Long Beach, or Houston offices. Full-time onsite work is expected, except for bi-weekly WFH Fridays; limited exceptions may be considered for exceptional candidates outside these hubs. Travel to project sites and fabrication facilities may be required.

What you will do

• Produce complete electrical design packages for data center and power generation projects, including one-line diagrams, equipment layouts, grounding, lighting, raceway, cable tray, panel, and schedule documentation.
• Develop site plans, ductbank and trench layouts, conduit routing, equipment pad layouts, and power, control, and instrumentation cabling designs.
• Coordinate electrical designs within federated Revit models to identify and resolve clashes across structural, mechanical, piping, and civil disciplines.
• Develop medium-voltage distribution from utility or generation sources through switchgear, transformers, substations, and skid interconnections.
• Support design calculations, permitting, utility interconnection, procurement, document control, design reviews, RFIs, construction redlines, and as-built drawings.
• Take electrical packages from concept through IFC, collaborate with engineers and project managers, and contribute to design standards, constructability reviews, and cost optimization.

Requirements

• 5+ years of electrical design experience on industrial, utility, power generation, energy storage, data center, or heavy commercial facility projects.
• Advanced AutoCAD skills and demonstrated ownership of drawing packages from concept through IFC.
• Ability to read, navigate, and coordinate within Revit models for multidisciplinary clash detection.
• Knowledge of medium- and low-voltage power distribution, switchgear, transformers, protective devices, grounding, cabling, and NEC/NFPA 70 standards.
• Experience interpreting vendor drawings, equipment submittals, and P&IDs, with proficiency in Google Workspace and document-control tools such as Autodesk Forma and Bluebeam Revu.
• High school diploma required; an associate degree, technical certificate, or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology or a related field is preferred. Strong communication, multitasking, and independent execution skills are required.

Nice to have

• Hyperscale or colocation data center experience.
• Experience with gas turbine or reciprocating engine generation, BESS, or substation design.
• Exposure to ETAP or SKM for load flow, short-circuit, arc-flash, and coordination studies.
• Experience with Revit family creation, Dynamo, AutoCAD scripting, protection and control drawings, or direct field construction and commissioning support.
