AI Software Development Lifecycle Lead Engineer (AI)

Location: Budapest, Szeged, Pécs, or Debrecen, Hungary. Remote work is available only from within Hungary due to European taxation regulations.

What you will do

• Define and lead AI-assisted SDLC patterns for repository intake, code exploration, service mapping, build diagnosis, documentation, and engineering evidence generation.
• Guide analysis of OpenStack-derived control-plane services, APIs, dependencies, integration flows, and multi-repository build structures.
• Evaluate and operationalize coding agents, AI development platforms, open-weight models, and enterprise-approved toolchains.
• Establish human-in-the-loop controls, quality gates, prompt libraries, review patterns, and evidence standards for AI-generated outputs.
• Coach software engineers and platform specialists on safe AI tool usage while coordinating with architecture, security, DevOps, and testing teams.
• Produce stakeholder-ready artefacts covering transition risks, service decomposition, codebase maturity, and recommended engineering actions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or technical architecture.
• Strong hands-on Python skills plus at least one backend or systems language such as Go, Java, C, C++, or Rust.
• Practical experience with AI coding agents and LLM-enabled SDLC workflows for large codebases and technical documentation.
• Understanding of OpenStack-derived cloud architectures, modular service decomposition, CI/CD, Kubernetes delivery, and platform operations.
• Ability to lead senior engineers, challenge AI outputs, and turn incomplete evidence into actionable engineering decisions.
• Experience working with auditability, traceability, confidentiality, and software sovereignty constraints.
