Senior Software Engineer (Node/Rust)

Location: Remote within the United States for candidates authorized to work in the U.S.; Eastern Time work schedule. Hiring is available across most U.S. states, excluding Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming. Relocation to New York City is supported.

Salary: $183,000–$237,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Build cloud infrastructure capable of supporting applications of varied size and complexity.
• Improve the performance, reliability, efficiency, capacity management, and data tier of backend services.
• Design observability across core systems, define SLOs, and build tools that expose performance characteristics to end users.
• Design and develop backbone services supporting billions of requests and arbitrary end-user applications.
• Build the workflow engine and scale high-volume ingest, export, and data workflows.
• Participate in triage and on-call operations, resolve incidents, and prevent recurrence through engineering improvements.

Requirements

• Senior-level or highly experienced software engineering background with 5+ years of software development experience.
• Hands-on experience with scalable distributed systems and high-traffic applications.
• Proficiency with Node.js, Rust, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and Terraform.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to execute engineering priorities.
• Authorization to work in the United States and availability for Eastern Time collaboration are required.
• Availability to participate in after-hours and on-call support.
