Senior Rust Developer (Rust)

Location: 100% remote within the United States; the posting lists Apex, NC.

Salary: $145,000–$205,000 per year.

What you will do

• Build and maintain distributed systems for enterprise applications using Rust.
• Develop REST APIs and gRPC services with asynchronous programming and Rust web frameworks.
• Design concurrent, multithreaded, and networked software for Linux environments.
• Integrate cloud services, databases, messaging platforms, and containerized infrastructure.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and secure, scalable production systems.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years of production Rust development.
• Strong knowledge of Rust ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, traits, generics, and async programming.
• Experience with Tokio, Actix Web, Axum, or similar Rust frameworks.
• Experience with REST APIs, gRPC, distributed systems, Linux, networking, multithreading, and concurrent programming.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform; relational or NoSQL databases; Docker, Kubernetes, Git, CI/CD, and messaging platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or NATS.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen, Green Card holder, EAD holder, or H-1B transfer candidate.

Nice to have

• Kubernetes Operators and cloud-native infrastructure experience.
• Terraform or Pulumi, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Istio, or Linkerd.
• Cryptography, TLS, secure communications, C/C++ interoperability, or open-source Rust contributions.
