What you will do

• Ensure safe crew, vessel, and tow operations using established safety systems and policies.
• Navigate vessels safely and efficiently while applying maritime rules, seamanship, and boat-handling skills.
• Supervise Mates and Deckhands in coordination with the Captain and shore-based leadership.
• Ensure crew compliance with USCG requirements and environmental regulations.
• Delegate vessel duties according to crew members’ experience and abilities.
• Promote effective leadership and harmony among the crew.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Valid USCG Mate/Pilot license or higher.
• Valid FCC Radio License and Radar endorsement or certification.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and proficient computer skills, including email, web browsers, and navigational systems.
