Project Engineer (Marine Diesel)

Location: Beloit, Wisconsin, United States of America. Travel of 0–10% may be required for customer interactions.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary technical interface for customers and coordinate engineering deliverables against contract scope.
• Lead the development, release, and maintenance of schematics, bills of materials, test procedures, reports, and other project documentation.
• Complete engineering releases and design changes through the PDM system in coordination with the Design/Drafting group.
• Perform system and component design, qualification work, product improvements, cost reductions, and obsolete-component replacements.
• Support engine production and testing through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, nonconformance disposition, and corrective actions.
• Prepare test reports demonstrating compliance with approved customer procedures and support technical proposals, upgrades, and existing installations.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering, or an equivalent degree.
• Experience or knowledge of diesel generator sets, including operation, troubleshooting, ABS rulesets, USCG ACP, and MIL-SPECs related to marine diesel engines.
• Experience with fluid system design and component selection.
• Basic proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD; SolidWorks is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, plus strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship and attest to having no dual citizenship; eligibility for required Government Security Clearance is also required, with active Secret clearance strongly preferred.

Nice to have

• Systematic problem-solving or risk-management experience with 8D, Red X, A3, FMEA/FMECA, Lean, or Six Sigma.
• Technical proficiency in French, German, or Danish.
• Active Secret security clearance.
