Product Application Engineer (Marine)

Location: Remote, based in Arkansas, Missouri, or Oklahoma; travel required 80% (approximately four days per week)

Salary: $73,600–$101,800 annually, plus an annual discretionary bonus

What you will do

• Provide technical support to Mercury Marine delivery partners, boat OEMs, dealers, and customers.
• Support new product development, communicate product changes, and assist boat builders with marine propulsion system integration.
• Review bills of materials, structures, installations, sea trials, vessel personalities, and performance optimization.
• Coordinate product issue resolution, including problem definition, containment, corrective actions, prevention, and CPR system documentation.
• Conduct annual installation audits, resolve installation issues, and support propulsion-system training for OEM technicians.
• Lead onsite launches of new and current Mercury products and support dealer meetings and customer events.

Requirements

• BS in Engineering, another technical degree, or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of marine engines, engine systems, electronic controls, marine industry practices, basic vessel design, and systems engineering methods.
• Ability and willingness to perform vessel testing, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Experience or working knowledge of Six Sigma problem-solving tools and basic project management.
• Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and selling skills.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• MS in Engineering.
• Knowledge of vessel performance optimization, naval architecture, and noise, vibration, and harshness principles.
• Knowledge of finite element analysis.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher.
