TL;DR
Engineering Intern (Marine Electronics): Supporting product validation and new product development for marine electrical and power-management systems with an accent on prototype construction, test fixture fabrication, and electrical, mechanical, and acoustical testing. Focus on troubleshooting test equipment, conducting on-water validation, maintaining lab and shop equipment, and improving work instructions.

Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma; onsite. Full-time internship from May to August, with a 40-hour work week. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Salary: $18.00–$27.00 per hour.

What you will do

  • Execute product validation testing, prepare detailed reports, and communicate test data and issues through the test request system.
  • Build prototypes from engineering data using electrical and mechanical principles.
  • Design and fabricate test fixtures and perform basic electronic circuit modifications.
  • Provide technical assistance for mechanical, electrical, and acoustical testing, troubleshoot equipment failures, and implement repairs.
  • Support on-water product validation and safely operate and maintain the Tulsa boat and vehicle fleet.
  • Implement a visual work-instruction platform and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Basic machine-shop experience with vertical mills, lathes, and general shop tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, adapt to changing priorities, and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to develop solutions when design inputs are vague or incomplete.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors, on the water, in garage settings, and in confined boat spaces.
  • Immediate authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

  • Experience in a laboratory environment, manufacturing, work-instruction creation, or new product development cycles.
  • Boating, marine electronics, marine or recreational vehicle product experience.
  • Shop, bench fabrication, or assembly skills.
