Field Service Engineer (Industrial Automation)

Location: Tokyo, Japan, with extensive travel throughout Japan and occasional international travel

What you will do

• Commission, test, integrate, and start up sensor-based sorting equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, technical upgrades, and system optimization.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and system-related issues.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support to industrial customers.
• Train equipment operators and maintenance teams and prepare service reports and technical documentation.
• Support Sales and Project Management teams, participate in on-call support, and share field feedback with internal teams.

Requirements

• Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in Field Service, Industrial Maintenance, Automation, Commissioning, or a similar technical environment.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, diagnostic, communication, organizational, and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage technical issues in the field, and work directly with industrial customers.
• Business-level Japanese and professional working English required.
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout Japan, travel internationally when required, and hold a valid driver's license.
