Lead Customer Engineer (Semiconductor Equipment)

Location: Nishi Tokyo, Japan; on-site work required

What you will do

• Install, maintain, and upgrade semiconductor equipment at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot complex equipment issues using digital analytics, diagnostic tools, documentation, and problem-solving methods.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
• Follow and create documented procedures and published task plans.
• Communicate with customers and internal business units and lead projects when required.
• Train and mentor junior Customer Engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 7–10 years of experience in the semiconductor or equipment-support industry.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude covering pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, and/or thermodynamics.
• Advanced knowledge of wafer-processing parameters and strong knowledge of hand tools and digital multimeters.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Valid driver’s license, ability to obtain a passport if travel is required, and ability to meet all on-site safety and environmental requirements.

Nice to have

• Project management skills and experience leading customer and internal product meetings.
• Knowledge of software used for semiconductor equipment.
