DDP Customer Engineer I (Semiconductor)

Location: Hiroshima, Japan. On-site work is required, including clean-room and safety requirements. Relocation is not eligible.

What you will do

• Collaborate with senior field service engineers to install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment.
• Use digital analytics and basic diagnostic techniques to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
• Coordinate directly with customers to support smooth equipment operation.
• Work in clean-room environments and follow safety, environmental, and personal protective equipment requirements.

Requirements

• Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience, or trade certification.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and experience diagnosing and resolving basic technical challenges.
• Ability to learn and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport if travel is required.

Nice to have

• 1–2 years of customer or field service experience in a related technical field.
• Associate degree in electronics or engineering technologies.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum systems, or thermodynamics.
• Familiarity with hand tools and digital multimeters.
