Resident Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Ota, Japan; work in an office, manufacturing facility, or client site

What you will do

• Provide customer engineering support for electrical and software development, validation, and product release.
• Maintain customer test benches with current hirify.global product samples and perform initial troubleshooting, data collection, and issue triage.
• Support analysis of warranty parts and provide field or dealership technical support when required.
• Facilitate customer change management by entering technical requirements or responses and tracking approvals.
• Lead electrical and software integration of hirify.global products into customer vehicles.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of customer-facing or design engineering experience, or equivalent, with a bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Knowledge of electrical and software products and technologies, including customer-specific PDM, PLM, and database systems.
• Ability to complete administrative tasks supporting product development, testing, and release.
• Experience solving complex mechanical and technical issues involving electronic products integrated into vehicles.
• Strong communication and coordination skills for explaining complex technical concepts to internal and external stakeholders.
• Willingness to work in an office, manufacturing facility, or client site and travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in an engineering field.
• Experience as a customer-facing, application, or design engineer for automotive electronics products.
• Direct experience with the applicable customer.
