TL;DR
Lead Project Information Specialist (Records Management): Managing physical and digital records, information governance, and administrative support for USTDA operations with an accent on federal records compliance, retention policies, and resource accessibility. Focus on implementing records management procedures, producing PIMS reports, providing technical assistance, and maintaining secure information services.

Location: Arlington, Virginia, United States, across the Mid-Atlantic Region; on-site technical support is required at 1101 Wilson Blvd., Suite 1100, Arlington, VA 22209-3901.

Employment type: Full-time. The engagement may be performed under a 1099 contract, contract W-2 arrangement, or converted to a hirify.global W-2 position.

What you will do

  • Manage physical and digital records, filing systems, retrieval operations, and records lifecycle processes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal records retention policies and support USTDA information governance initiatives.
  • Create and implement records management policies, procedures, retention schedules, and updates to the IRC Manual.
  • Prepare weekly status reports, annual IRC calendars, and ad hoc or scheduled Project Information Management System reports.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements to reporting practices and record-keeping processes.
  • Provide administrative support, staff training, technical assistance, and on-site AV troubleshooting during events.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of related work experience, including at least 5 years of records management experience and Freedom of Information Act information management.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in information management, business, or a related field, or relevant certifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, databases, data entry, and commercial software packages.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, written and verbal communication, customer service, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, with eligibility for Interim TS/SCI or full TS/SCI clearance as required.

Nice to have

  • Records management training or certification.
  • Experience with office management, building and facilities management, human resources, or policies and procedures.
  • Advanced proficiency with Access, Adobe Acrobat, Visio, and data analytics tools.
