Electrician (Marine)

Location: Paducah, KY, USA; onsite work involving vessels, facility docks, and travel to other facilities

What you will do

• Maintain, overhaul, and repower electrical systems on running vessels.
• Install electronic throttles, alarm systems, steering systems, and other onboard electrical equipment in accordance with Subchapter M regulations.
• Calibrate, test, inspect, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain PLCs, transmitters, controllers, and other electronic devices.
• Assist with electrical equipment and instrumentation design, engineering, procurement, and USCG approval documentation.
• Coordinate with vessel associates, vendors, Chief Engineers, and project stakeholders during repairs and overhauls.
• Maintain repair records, support safety-focused operations, and provide hands-on training to Chief and junior engineers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3–5 years of experience as a marine electrician.
• High-level knowledge of vessels, vessel systems, marine electrical systems, PLCs, and AC/DC controls.
• NFPA 70E certification or the ability to obtain it.
• Valid TWIC Card.
• Ability to work onboard vessels and at docks, including climbing, lifting, confined spaces, uneven surfaces, hazardous areas, extreme weather, travel, and rotating 24-hour on-call, weekend, and holiday coverage.
