Healthcare Career Placement & Student Job Readiness Specialist

Location: Hayward, CA, USA; campus-based, full-time position

Pay range: $28–$32 per hour; typical hiring range is $28–$30 per hour.

What you will do

• Coach students and recent graduates on resumes, cover letters, job-search strategies, interviews, and networking.
• Lead individual and group career-readiness sessions, workshops, classroom presentations, and networking events.
• Build relationships with healthcare employers to create externship, direct-hire, and long-term workforce opportunities.
• Coordinate job fairs, employer presentations, mock interviews, and other employer engagement activities.
• Partner with faculty, clinical, externship, and campus teams to improve training-to-employment conversions.
• Track caseloads, outreach, placement activity, employment verification, and performance data in company systems.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of combined experience in career services, staffing, recruiting, workforce development, employer relations, account management, admissions, community outreach, or comparable work.
• At least 2 years of experience involving coaching, advising, placement, business development, recruitment, or relationship management.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent education, relevant experience, and demonstrated performance may be considered.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, organization, follow-through, and high-volume caseload management skills.
• Microsoft Office proficiency required; CRM, student information, reporting, case management, CampusVue, CampusNexus, or Power BI experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel locally for employer visits, outreach, and campus events when required.

Nice to have

• Medical assisting experience.
• Experience in postsecondary education, healthcare, or performance-based service environments.
• Knowledge of healthcare career pathways, healthcare employers, or allied health and nursing employment trends.
