Employment Counselor

Location: New Bedford, Massachusetts, USA; full-time, first shift.

Salary: $25–$26.50 per hour.

What you will do

• Conduct RESEA initial and final reviews, career action planning, job-search assessments, and guidance on work-search requirements.
• Manage a participant caseload through individualized coaching, counseling, employment planning, placement, retention, and advancement.
• Assess skills, work history, education, and employment barriers, then develop short- and long-term employment goals.
• Support resume review, job readiness, training access, education programs, and use of online job-search tools.
• Maintain participant records, MOSES data entry, attendance and progress tracking, and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate services with internal teams, employers, community resources, and external partners.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Human Services, Education, Workforce Development, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 1–3 years of experience in workforce development, case management, or a related program preferred.
• Strong customer service, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work with people from diverse cultural, educational, and economic backgrounds.
• Familiarity with local labor market trends and community resources.
