Cloud Platform - Developer Experience Engineer (AWS)

Location: Pittsburgh, PA, United States; onsite five days a week

Base salary: $130,000–$164,500 per year, with potential equity awards and an annual performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Own the developer platform experience supporting software delivery across CI/CD, Cloud, and a growing monorepo.
• Design caching strategies across Turborepo, Bazel, package managers, and compiler cache layers.
• Improve Bazel build performance, remote caching, cache hit rates, build graphs, and CI reliability.
• Optimize the PR landing experience, required checks, merge confidence, and time to green.
• Improve self-hosted CI runner infrastructure, workplace provisioning, and pre-commit and lint pipelines.
• Build CI observability and reporting for pipeline latency, utilization, cost, and performance trends.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in Developer Experience, Build/Release Engineering, Platform Engineering, or CI/CD infrastructure on AWS Cloud.
• Hands-on experience with GitHub or an equivalent CI platform, self-hosted runners, and workflow orchestration.
• Experience reducing CI time and improving pipeline reliability at scale.
• Strong understanding of caching across modern build systems, package ecosystems, and containerized CI; Turborepo or Bazel experience is preferred.
• Experience optimizing PR workflows, including branch protections, required checks, merge strategies, and developer feedback loops.
• Strong scripting and automation skills with Python, Bash, or similar tools, plus familiarity with infrastructure as code such as Terraform.

Nice to have

• Experience with monorepo migrations, CI redesign, runner right-sizing, and cost/performance tuning.
• Experience with Turborepo task graphs, Bazel remote execution and caching, and CI health dashboards or SLOs.
• Knowledge of security and compliance checks in CI, including secret scanning and policy gates.
• Experience applying AI-assisted development patterns in CI/CD and Developer Experience workflows.
