Senior Platform Engineer (Build & Developer Infrastructure)

Location: New York, United States; hybrid working opportunities

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 annual base salary, plus eligible discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate software delivery, build, release, and developer infrastructure platforms.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines, build tooling, dependency management, artifact workflows, and developer self-service capabilities for large-scale C++ and Python applications.
• Build infrastructure automation and configuration management solutions using containerization and orchestration technologies.
• Improve observability through centralized logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, and alerting.
• Optimize platform performance, reliability, scalability, and security while participating in incident response and root cause analysis.
• Implement software supply chain security practices, including artifact provenance, vulnerability scanning, secret management, and CI/CD security controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience with platform engineering, infrastructure, CI/CD, DevOps, SRE, software delivery, or developer productivity systems.
• Strong Linux systems knowledge, networking fundamentals, distributed systems reliability, and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with C++ build systems such as CMake, Ninja, Bazel, or Buck2, plus Python packaging and dependency management.
• Experience with CI/CD platforms, artifact repositories, Terraform or Ansible, Docker or Podman, and cloud, hybrid, or on-premises infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Python, shell scripting, and Git, with strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience troubleshooting C++ linkage, dependency, ABI, compiler, linker, and toolchain issues or modernizing legacy build systems.
• Experience with remote caching, remote execution, reproducible Python environments, or internal package distribution.
• Knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, OpenSearch, Airflow, GitOps, or internal developer portals.
• Experience with C++ or Rust systems programming and software supply chain security.
• Experience integrating AI-assisted development tools into secure engineering workflows.
