Electronics Technician - Install/Dispo - CSA

Location: Chicago, IL, USA; 100% travel across the United States

Hourly rate: $20.00–$49.00 per hour (W-2)

What you will do

• Install, configure, align, and test FAA-related communication, voice control, radio, networking, and supporting systems.
• Integrate commercial telecommunications, field cable, fiber optics, and VoIP communications.
• Install and remove radio racks, radios, antennas, cable trays, conduit, and government- or vendor-furnished equipment.
• Run and terminate coaxial and communications cabling, install grounding and surge protection, and perform basic electrical connections.
• Prepare baseline readings, disposition documentation, and other records required by customers and the FAA.
• Interface with FAA Air Traffic and Technical Operations personnel and support installation and construction crews in the field.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience installing and maintaining electronic communication and networking equipment.
• Familiarity with FAA National Airspace System communications, networking systems, cabling, and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, engineering packages, and electrical wiring diagrams.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a federal background screening security clearance.
• Ability to travel continuously, work non-standard hours, climb above 60 feet, lift up to 75 lbs, and move up to 350 lbs with a hand truck or pallet jack.
