Electronics Equipment Technician II

What you will do

• Provide daily technical support for Federal Aviation Administration training and functional environments supporting the National Airspace Systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, system installation and removal, configuration, troubleshooting, and equipment testing.
• Maintain FAA Academy educational audio/visual systems, including classroom computers, network switches, A/V routers, ATV carts, and video teleconference equipment.
• Program, install, and remove electronic door locks and build or repair interconnection cables for audiovisual components.
• Use oscilloscopes, digital volt/ohm meters, and other test equipment to diagnose electronic circuits and systems.
• Support automation and terminal systems including EAS, ECG, DSR, TSS, STARS, STARS Elite, RWSL, and fiber optics, while assisting senior technicians and guiding junior technicians.

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain an FAA Public Trust Clearance for access to facilities, equipment, and property.
• High school diploma or GED with at least three years of relevant experience, or an associate degree with at least two years of relevant experience.
• Strong electronics knowledge and basic electronic circuit troubleshooting skills.
• Basic computer skills and experience with audio/visual systems, cable building, and cable testing.
• Experience with operating systems and networking environments such as Solaris, AIX, Linux, Unix, or Windows.
• Good communication skills and the ability to resolve customer issues.
