Web Press Operator - Nights

Location: Elk Grove Village, Illinois, USA; onsite night shift from 7pm to 7am

Pay: $27.34–$39.29 per hour, plus a $3.00 shift premium and a $1,000 sign-on bonus distributed in monthly payments after meeting job requirements.

What you will do

• Operate multi-color web and offset printing presses to produce single-color, two-color, and multi-color printed products.
• Set up presses, install plates or cylinders, prepare blankets, and adjust tension, color, and registration.
• Review job specifications and coordinate make-ready plans, assigning responsibilities to press crew members.
• Lead press crew operations and promote a safe, injury-free work environment.
• Clean, lubricate, inspect, and maintain presses; perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Document time, materials, impressions, waste, and run speeds while coordinating with prepress, maintenance, scheduling, and other departments.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of web press printing experience.
• Thorough knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials, equipment, specifications, and safety requirements.
• Experience with in-line finishing, die cutting, inserters, imagers, color, and register.
• Ability to read job specifications and determine appropriate press settings, materials, and press usage.
• Skills in precise press adjustments, micrometer use for plate alignment, routine maintenance, and minor equipment repairs.
• High school diploma or GED; ability to stand and walk continuously for 8–12 hours and occasionally lift or push/pull up to 50 pounds.
