Location: Fairfax, Virginia, USA, across the Mid-Atlantic region; full-time on an exempt 1099 contract basis with no overtime pay

What you will do

• Lead IT projects through planning, execution, and closure.
• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, issues, and deliverables.
• Coordinate stakeholder communications and multi-vendor collaboration.
• Use GMU project tools, including TeamDynamix.
• Ensure compliance with GMU policies and provide reporting dashboards to ITS leadership.
• Support change and transformation initiatives for education and government-sector clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of IT project management experience.
• Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies, scheduling, and vendor management.
• Leadership, organization, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with business tools, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe Acrobat, data analytics tools, and Visio.
• Experience in higher education or government is advantageous.

Nice to have

• PMP or equivalent certification.
