Maintenance Technician - Automation (APU 1-A) (Manufacturing Automation)

Location: Onsite in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, United States. This is a 12-hour rotating day shift position from 6 AM to 6 PM. Employment is limited to persons eligible to work in the United States.

What you will do

• Monitor, troubleshoot, repair, and adjust automated assembly, subassembly, printing, and packaging machines.
• Diagnose and restore electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including machine controls and robot arms.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance, inspections, TPM activities, and repairs in accordance with cGMP and safety procedures.
• Respond to machine alarms, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions for safety, quality, and processing issues.
• Upload control programs after program loss or CPU replacement and maintain electrical controls on production equipment.
• Enter and manage maintenance work orders in SAP and coordinate repair schedules with the Maintenance Leader.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in a technical, hands-on position.
• Experience with complex assembly automation.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, PLC programming, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lb repetitively, push and pull items, climb ladders, and stand or walk throughout the shift.
• Ability to work independently from verbal or written instructions in a clean manufacturing environment with moderate noise and required PPE or cleanroom apparel.

Nice to have

• Computer skills, Microsoft Office knowledge, and SAP experience.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
• Mechanical aptitude, basic hand-tool skills, strong hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
