Network or Electronics Engineer (FAA telecommunications and electronic systems): Engineering, planning, and execution of FAA communications system installations and upgrades across U.S. operational regions with an accent on radio systems, VOIP infrastructure, facility components, and electronic systems integration. Focus on developing engineering design packages, coordinating field installations, troubleshooting electrical and telecommunications systems, and managing projects through closeout.

Location: United States; remote work is available, with 20%–100% travel to FAA-aligned regional assignments

Salary: $35.00–$57.00 per hour

What you will do

  • Manage FAA telecommunications and electronic system installation projects through initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closeout.
  • Develop engineering implementation plans, instructions, design packages, cost estimates, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Review structural, electrical, telecommunications, and signal-flow documentation and conduct initial facility site surveys.
  • Engineer and oversee installations of radio systems, VOIP/VCS systems, antennas, RF cables, grounding, lightning protection, towers, and related facility components.
  • Coordinate project stakeholders, installation teams, materials, readiness meetings, change requests, and facility closeout activities.
  • Support electronic systems integration, electrical troubleshooting, and validation involving copper, coaxial, and fiber-optic links.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility to pass a government background investigation are required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, or six years of relevant technical experience; equivalent military training may be considered.
  • Ability to travel 20%–100%, work in field environments, and climb antenna towers up to 100 feet.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
  • Valid current driver’s license and access to a credit card sufficient to advance travel expenses, which are reimbursed under company policy.
  • Preferred experience includes FAA facilities, engineering plans and CAD drawings, test equipment, manual and power tools, and electrical troubleshooting.
