Field Technology Specialist (Telecom)

Location: Swanton, Vermont, USA; field travel approximately 85% of the time.

Salary: $26.00–$40.00 per hour. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible candidates.

What you will do

• Maintain computer and camera surveillance systems across a specified geographic region.
• Manage computers, data networks, digital video cameras, recorders, power supplies, and fiber-optic systems.
• Install, update, and maintain hardware and software.
• Maintain accurate asset accountability and detailed maintenance records.
• Use advanced electrical theory and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot, calibrate, and adjust electronic equipment to stringent specifications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of computers, data networks, digital video systems, fiber optics, and basic electronics principles.
• Strong understanding of telecommunications systems, including transmission, broadcasting, switching, and control.
• Familiarity with circuit boards, processors, chips, hardware, and software applications.
• Ability to use, repair, and maintain various machines and tools.
• Ability to obtain and maintain government-issued security clearances.
• Valid driver's license.
• Readiness to travel approximately 85% of the time.

Nice to have

• Associate's Degree in Information Technology or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience as a satellite, telecom, or computer hardware technician.
