Project Manager, Hardware Development

Location: Must be in or relocate to the Salt Lake City, Utah area; in-office Monday through Thursday, with some Fridays potentially required in office. Applicants currently living outside the United States are not considered.

What you will do

• Manage complex electro-mechanical product development projects across planning, development, testing, and launch.
• Act as the technical and programmatic focal point for hardware engineering activities.
• Prepare and manage project budgets, schedules, issues, action items, and risks.
• Lead teams in resolving complex technical issues and developing corrective actions to protect project timelines.
• Coordinate testing and inspection with engineering and quality teams to verify product performance against specifications.
• Manage supplier and contract manufacturing activities, including travel to Asia at least four times per year as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Mechanical Engineering is strongly preferred.
• At least 2 years of project management experience related to product development.
• Working knowledge of software and firmware, with some programming background.
• Familiarity with electronics and the ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Strong communication, teamwork, analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Minitab.
• Knowledge of statistical process control methods, including Cpk, T-tests, X-bar/R charts, and design of experiments.
