Maintenance Technician - Automation (APU 1-3rd Shift)

Location: Onsite at 600 Deerfield Pkwy, Buffalo Grove, Illinois, United States; 6:00 PM–2:30 AM night shift.

Salary: $25.00–$40.00 USD per hour, plus a 10% night-shift differential.

What you will do

• Monitor, troubleshoot, repair, and adjust assembly, subassembly, printing, and packaging equipment.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults and restore malfunctioning equipment to operation.
• Repair electrical controls, PLC-related systems, and robot arms, including boards, motors, and encoders.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance, inspections, TPM activities, and work orders in SAP CMMS.
• Respond to machine alarms, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions for safety, quality, and processing issues.
• Maintain safe, clean, and compliant work areas while following 5S, cGMP, and Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in a technical, hands-on position.
• Experience with complex assembly automation.
• Experience with electrical systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds repetitively, push and pull items, climb ladders, and stand or walk throughout the shift.

Nice to have

• Microsoft Office and SAP experience.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
• Mechanical aptitude, basic hand-tool skills, strong hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
