TL;DR
Electronics Technician - Install/Dispo (FAA Communications): Installing, integrating, testing, and disposing of FAA communications facilities and equipment across the United States with an accent on radio systems, networking, cabling, grounding, and infrastructure buildout. Focus on interpreting engineering diagrams, coordinating frequency outages, interfacing with FAA personnel, and solving installation challenges in geographically isolated field environments.

Location: 100% travel across the United States; U.S. citizenship required

Compensation: $20.00–$49.00 per hour, W-2

What you will do

  • Install, configure, align, test, and integrate FAA communications, voice control, radio, networking, and supporting systems.
  • Connect Commercial Telco, field cable, fiber optics, and VoIP communications infrastructure.
  • Install and remove radio racks, radios, antennas, cable trays, conduit, grounding systems, and surge protection.
  • Run and terminate coaxial and communications cabling, perform basic electrical connections, and complete baseline readings.
  • Prepare installation, testing, disposition, and customer/FAA compliance documentation.
  • Coordinate with FAA Air Traffic and Technical Operations personnel and support field installation and construction crews.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a federal background security screening.
  • Experience installing and maintaining electronic communications and networking equipment, including Telco, RCL, field cable, VoIP, and fiber optics.
  • Familiarity with FAA National Airspace System communications and networking systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, engineering packages, and electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Valid driver’s license and working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to travel 100% across the United States, work non-standard hours, climb above 60 feet, lift up to 75 lbs, and move up to 350 lbs with equipment.
