Maintenance Technician

Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada; onsite

What you will do

• Inspect buildings and equipment, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot basic issues, and complete minor repairs across HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems.
• Identify deficiencies and abnormal conditions, coordinate corrective work, and escalate complex technical issues when necessary.
• Respond to tenant and Property Management maintenance requests.
• Coordinate contractors and service providers, arrange site access, attend meetings, obtain quotations, and follow up on outstanding work.
• Prepare routine scopes of work, review quotations, and maintain accurate work orders and maintenance records in Yardi or other applicable systems.
• Maintain mechanical rooms and service areas safely, support contractor compliance, and participate in the on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of hands-on maintenance, facility maintenance, commercial or industrial property maintenance, mechanical maintenance, construction maintenance, or related experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and general building-maintenance systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, communication, organization, and follow-through.
• Experience coordinating contractors, trades, or service technicians is strongly preferred.
• Basic computer skills; Yardi, CMMS, work-order systems, or DDC/BAS experience is an asset.
• Valid Alberta driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, warehouses, and service areas.
