Field Service Engineer L2 (Security Detection)

Location: Botany, NSW 2019, Australia; Sydney Airport and customer sites across metropolitan, regional, and remote locations

What you will do

• Troubleshoot, service, maintain, and repair X-ray and trace detection equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults, and replace components.
• Install, commission, inspect, clean, and test new systems at customer sites.
• Provide technical support during a 24/7 rotating roster and on-call shifts, both remotely and onsite.
• Complete service reports, maintenance records, technical documentation, and spare-parts transactions.
• Support continuous improvement and coach junior engineers and new team members.

Requirements

• Certificate III trade qualification or degree in mechanical, electrical, electronics, mechatronics, IT, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in field service, maintenance, or technical support.
• Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, with experience in complex equipment, automation, or industrial systems.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and communicate effectively with customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and a current Australian driver's licence.
• Ability to obtain relevant security clearances and industry licences, and flexibility to work a 24/7 rotating shift roster and on-call support.
